Driving entrepreneurship and economic growth in rural Southwest Ohio, Miami University’s Lee and Rosemary Fisher College@Elm Innovation and Workforce Development incubator (College@Elm) is a catalytic force for Oxford, Butler County, and Southwest Ohio. Anchored by the brainpower of 20,000 Miami undergraduates, Miami’s No. 8 globally ranked entrepreneurship program, the College of Engineering and Computing, and the Department of Emerging Technology in Business and Design, College@Elm has already generated 67 new jobs and $3.3 million in payroll. Startups in advanced air mobility, next-generation manufacturing, and other sectors, as well as residents, emerging entrepreneurs, and faculty, gain access to resources normally only available to large firms, while collaborating to scale ventures and accelerate innovation. College@Elm is delivering catalytic change in Oxford — proving that innovation fuels job creation, investment attraction, and rural revitalization.
