Join us at the Goggin Ice Center to learn how to skate. Whether you are brand new to skating or have years of experience, the Goggin Ice Center is the place to learn the basics or remaster the art of skating. There are several opportunities for everyone beginning at the age of 3.
The Goggin Ice Center offers a complete recreational skating program with classes for all ages and abilities. Skaters earn level certification through a final skills test at the end of each session. Classes are offered weekly during multiple sessions in the year.

The mission of the Miami Skating Academy is to promote community participation in figure skating for all ages and abilities in a positive and safe environment. The Miami Skating Academy operates under the umbrella of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and is organized and operated by a volunteer parent board. We strive to inspire our skaters with an emphasis on effort, goal setting, and good sportsmanship, and to celebrate the achievements of our skaters on and off the ice. This camp is designed to further develop individual skating skills and techniques, improve performances, and help build confidence. Skating School campers will receive both on-ice and off-ice instruction, locker room space, meals at a Miami University dining hall, an air-conditioned dorm room, and 24-hour supervision.
The Goggin Ice Center offers private lessons for skaters of all levels. Our professional staff provides instruction in a variety of disciplines including: Basic Skills, Freestyle, Ice Dance, Moves in the Field, Choreography, and Synchronized Skating Skills. Lessons are offered during freestyle sessions. Our coaching staff includes elite and professional coaches with varying rates.
Freestyle sessions are special ice times reserved for figure skaters to practice individually and have private lessons with an instructor. Freestyle sessions are for skaters at USFS Basic 6 and/or ISI Gamma levels and above, unless otherwise arranged with the Skating Director. Goggin offers College Freestyle Sessions (CFS), and General Freestyles (FS) to accommodate all skaters.
