- Ethan Clements (Physics, BS 2014, MS 2016) was profiled as an ORISE STEM Researcher at the U.S. Dept of Energy. He credits his undergraduate faculty mentor, Dr. Samir Bali, for helping him solidify his interest in physics. "Dr. Bali fostered an environment where young students could deeply engage in experimental physics, building lasers and working with complex optical systems," Ethan said. - Traci Buschner '90 (English Literature), a partner at Guttman, Buschner & Brooks PLLC and former chair of the Sue J. Henry Center for Pre-Law Education Alumni Advisory Board, was chosen as President of the DC Trial Lawyers Association.
- Mahmoud Dhaouadi (’69 BA Psychology; ’71 MA Sociology) published a new book: Humans as Third Dimensional Beings: Within Social Science and Islamic Perspectives.
- Joe Hess (MFA '12, '87) released his first book of poetry, Into the Ancient, on May 31.
- Griffin Killion '22 (Media and Communication) became the Morning News Editor at KMOX (NewsRadio 1120AM/98.7FM) in St. Louis.
- Sarah Kingsbury '19, Hailey Kingsbury '21, and Katie Kingsbury '23 are three sisters who all attended Miami, majored in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and were then accepted to the clinical doctoral program in audiology at the University of Iowa.
- Kimmi Morakis '19 (Gerontology), her husband Brandon Storey ’19, and their golden retriever, Ivy, were featured in a special Miami Merger story in which Ivy played a key role.
- Another Miami Merger, Chris ’83 and Lynne Born Myers ’83, founders of Miami’s Project Dragonfly, discuss how they brought together a community of people working to ignite ecological and social change and support conservation and sustainability.
