Why Miami?

When I toured, I could tell that I would feel "at home" at Miami. I liked the Combined Degree program they had for my major and I loved the opportunities for involvement around campus.

How did you choose your major?

I knew that wanted to major in Statistics since high school because I loved AP Statistics when I took it in high school. However, I was sold on an Actuarial Science minor when I got to campus.

Key Moment at Miami

Getting to know Mrs. Lisa Werwinski has been a great part of my experience at Miami. I've worked with her for three semesters now. Because of this, I'm comfortable enough to confront her with advising and personal questions. She asked me to UA for her class and participate in research with her. She's been a great person to have in my corner and I'm looking forward to getting to know her further.

Other Notable Experience

Since starting at Miami, I've gotten a job working in Game Day Operations for the Athletic Department. I'm an honors student who is involved in College Mentors for Kids, and Undergraduate Research. I am also a UA for a first-year experience course.

Advice to Prospective Students

I would tell them how much I love the place. I have had a positive experience in all of my classes so far and I have found that the professors are very helpful and understanding. Additionally, the sporting events, clubs, and social events are a great reason to choose Miami. There is always something to do on campus, which is something I love, as I like to stay busy.

What are your career goals?

I'm not 100% sure what I want to do yet. However, I'm leaning towards either Actuarial Science or becoming a Data Analyst. I hope to have a job secured by the end of my senior year and start working right away.
