Why Miami?

I chose to come to Miami because it was both close and far from home and a lot of my family members have gone here and loved it. When I visited, the campus was gorgeous and the price was right.

How did you choose your major?

I came to Miami to be a business economics major in FSB but, as time went on I knew it was not the right fit for me. When I took IES 550, Environmental Law, for my master's program, I really fell in love with the idea of becoming an environmental lawyer. I ended up switching to political science and it has been a much better fit for me.

Key Moment at Miami

This past summer I got the opportunity to live, work, and study in DC through Miami's Inside Washington program. Throughout the summer I got to meet and network with DC influencers including Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor and Presidential Advisor Ricchetti. I also got to work an internship throughout the summer with Earthday which allowed me to work in a space that combined my interests in both policy and the environment. Throughout my time in the program, I grew so much as both a student and a professional. Overall, this summer was an incredible experience that helped me gain an understanding of what government looks like in action.

Other Notable Experience

I studied abroad in Luxembourg the spring semester of my sophomore year and it was such an enriching experience. Throughout my time abroad, I was able to visit 15 countries and explore so many different cultures. Along with studying and traveling, I also worked an internship through MUDEC as the social media intern. Working as the social media intern gave me the opportunity to explore and showcase Luxembourgish culture.

What are your career goals?

After I graduate this spring, I will be coming back to Miami to finish my Master of Environmental Science degree. Afterwards, I will be going to law school and then I will be going into environmental law.
