Miami University offers multiple pathways for nurses to elevate their careers through graduate study. Our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program welcomed its inaugural cohort in Fall 2022, and our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program launched in Fall 2024. With a seamless progression from MSN to DNP, students can enter advanced practice and continue working toward their terminal degree—gaining both clinical expertise and leadership skills along the way.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program offers extensive support in finding exceptional clinical placements. Courses are 100% online. The MSN program includes a two day on campus skills weekend mid-program for advanced procedures.
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) master’s program equips you with expert nursing skills that allow you to influence outcomes for diverse populations.
The Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) MSN track prepares registered nurses for advanced practice, providing evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan.
Take the next step toward earning your MSN or DNP degree.

Miami’s Nursing Department doesn’t just prepare you for the medical side of nursing, they also prepare you for the spiritual and emotional side of nursing care. It’s a holistic model curriculum. Other programs don’t emphasize that model as much as Miami does.
