The mission of the Office of Equity and Equal Opportunity (OEEO) is to advance and sustain an environment of internal equity, diversity, and inclusiveness for all members of the Miami University Community by ensuring equal access to employment and educational opportunities; promoting fairness and equity; being respectful, impartial, and non-judgmental.

University Statement of Non-Discrimination

One of the most important changes requires all employees* to promptly report harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence beginning July 1, 2017.

* Those with a legal privilege of confidentiality and researchers may be exempted from reporting. For more information, please review the policy and protocols.

OEEO Training

Affirmative Action Statement

Miami University's Office of Equity and Equal Opportunity (OEEO) completes an annual Affirmative Action Plan for women and minorities in accordance with Executive Order 11246, as amended, and Title 41, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 60-1 (Equal Employment Opportunity of Government Contractors), Part 60-2 (Affirmative Action Programs of Government Non-Construction Contractors; also known as "Revised Order No. 4"), and Part 60-20 (Sex Discrimination Guidelines for Government Contractors).

The OEEO also completes an annual Affirmative Action Plan for individuals with disabilities (IWDs) in accordance with the Rehabilitation Action of 1973, Section 503, as amended and Title 41, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 60-741 (Affirmative Action Program for Individuals with Disabilities), as well as protected veterans in accordance with the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, Section 4212, as amended, and Title 41 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 60-250 (Affirmative Action Program for Disabled Veterans and Other Veterans).
