First Generation Students

First-generation students make up approximately 25 percent of the Regional student population. Miami Regionals students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) has (have) not earned a bachelor’s degree are known as "first-generation" students. This highly valued population includes students, faculty, staff and alumni.

First Generation Student Spotlights

Miami Regionals is proud to highlight our first-generation students and their unique experiences that put meaning behind #FirstGenProud. Each first-generation student's academic path is very different but in the end, they share one thing in common: they are the first in their family to cross the stage to accept a diploma.
