Regionals (Hamilton and Middletown) Scholarships

Scholarships are a type of Gift Aid that are typically based on merit, such as academic excellence, talent, affiliation with various groups, career aspirations, or a combination of merit and financial need. To receive scholarships awarded by Miami University, you must enroll full time.

To be considered for need-based scholarships as a Hamilton or Middletown student, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We recommend you apply by Miami’s priority deadline to maximize your chances of receiving aid. Please note that University merit scholarships do not require FAFSA completion.

As part of Miami’s scholarship processing, all or a portion of your institutional scholarships may be replaced at a later date with a donor scholarship(s). This may require the completion of a Scholarship Thank You Letter to the donor.

During the application process, students are automatically considered for University merit scholarships. Award determinations are based on academic credentials provided at the time of their admission application.

Donor Scholarships

Scholarship Adjustments

Scholarships covering tuition and fees may be reduced if you receive additional aid that covers the same charges or if your total funding exceeds your cost of attendance. This includes resources such as the Miami University Staff/Family Fee Waiver, Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG), War Orphans Scholarship, Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, Ohio National Guard benefits, ROTC awards, Miami Access Fellows, and others. In these cases, your scholarship may be adjusted to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional funding guidelines.

Your Financial Aid Offer

After applying for financial aid, you will receive an email with a link to your financial aid offer. Your financial aid offer may be a combination of grants, scholarships, and other funding options such as loans and federal work-study funds.
