"I can now afford college without the worry of having to pay back tens of thousands of dollars in loans after I graduate."
What's the best thing about Miami?
The best thing about Miami is the new relationships that you build. I've met a lot of people that I will remain friends with for the rest of my life.
What are your goals after you graduate?
I hope to go to graduate school to obtain my M.B.A.
How has Miami helped you afford college?
Growing up, I had a different life story than the rest of my friends. My grandparents raised me from the age of three. I've had a job since I was 15, and I've had to pay for most things on my own. This made life a little more difficult when I got to college. During my freshman year, my grandfather passed away, and my grandmother and I looked into how this affected my college experience financially. We approached the financial aid office at the beginning of my sophomore year about the possibility of becoming an "independent" through the university's eyes. I can now afford college without the worry of having to pay back tens of thousands of dollars in loans after I graduate.
