Grants are money provided to the student that does not need to be repaid. They are typically awarded based on financial need. You must complete a FAFSA each year for consideration. See the Grant Eligibility Chart for more information. Grant amounts are prorated based on enrollment.

Federal Pell Grant | Undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and have an Expected Family Contribution (beginning with the 2024-2025 aid year, Student Aid Index) below a certain threshold established by the federal government. The Pell Grant award amount is prorated based on Enrollment Status. | Maximum lifetime eligibility: 12 full-time semesters. |
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) | Undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients. | The offer amount is $100 – $4,000 per year; limited funding is available. |
Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) | Undergraduate Ohio students with exceptional financial need attending Oxford Campus. In some cases, Regional students may be eligible. | Maximum lifetime eligibility: 10 semesters. |
Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grants (TEACH) | Students awarded in exchange for specific future teaching service in designated high-need fields and low-income elementary and secondary schools. If a student does not complete the required teaching service, the grant becomes a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan that must be repaid. | Maximum lifetime amounts: undergraduate: $16,000; graduate: $8,000. |
Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant (IASG) | A federal grant to qualifying students with a parent or guardian who died as a result of U.S. military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. If a student is eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, he or she cannot receive an IASG. | The grant award is equal to the amount of a maximum Federal Pell Grant for the award year. |
Second Chance Grant Program | One-time grant available to disenrolled Ohio resident students wishing to re-enroll at a qualifying Ohio institution. | $3,000 (Note: appropriation for the Second Chance Grant has been fully allocated for 2024-2025) |
A state grant for Pennsylvania residents with financial need. The grant amount varies up to $300 per semester for Pennsylvania residents attending Ohio schools. Students must complete a FAFSA and apply for the grant through the PA State Grant Program page.
A state grant for Vermont residents with financial need who are enrolled full-time in their first undergraduate degree program. For more information, visit the VSAC Grant page.
Oxford undergraduate students demonstrating financial need, and who plan to attend full-time during either the fall or spring in a study abroad program, are eligible to receive a university grant of up to $600 for their airline ticket. This one-time grant is available for one study abroad semester while attending Miami. An additional amount of up to $600 is also available as an interest-free university loan. Students who receive the grant and do not participate in a study abroad program will be required to repay the funds.
