Indic Arabic Numerals in Microsoft Word 2013

IMPORTANT! Before you set Microsoft Word for rendering Indic-Arabic numerals, make sure you have already installed the Arabic [...] keyboard and regional settings first. We prefer to use Arabic [Jordan] for Modern Standard Arabic text entry.

Open Microsoft Word 2013 in Windows and go to the OPTIONS menu.

In the OPTIONS menu, Select the LANGUAGES option in the left-hand column.

In the CHOOSE EDITING LANGUAGES section of the Languages option, you should see all the keyboard languages you have enabled in Windows 7. Select your ARABIC {...] language setting by clicking on the row stating Arabic.

You will leave CHOOSE DISPLAY AND HELP LANGUAGES settings at the default of MATCH MICROSOFT WINDOWS <DEFAULT>.

Press the USE AS DEFAULT button.

You will be prompted to save your settings and restart Microsoft Office 2013. Select YES.

Close Microsoft Word 2013 and restart the application. Set your languge settings to Arabic [...] and you should now be able to type with Indic-Arabic numerals.
