The University and Union bargaining committees met on September 12, 2024, to continue negotiations for an initial faculty contract.
Bargaining Update September 12, 2024
The University and the Union met on September 12, 2024 for collective bargaining negotiations of the faculty’s first contract. The parties continued their discussion of the discipline and discharge, appointment and promotion of tenure-track and tenured faculty and appointment, renewal and promotion of TCPL faculty articles. In furtherance of that discussion, FAM presented a package proposal on Discipline and Discharge and Academic Freedom as well as counter proposals on Appointment and Promotion of Tenure-Track and Tenured Faculty and Appointment, Renewal and Promotion of TCPL Faculty. The parties have identified numerous areas of agreement on these articles and are continuing to move closer to agreement. The University presented a counter proposal on Leaves, which adopts language proposed by the Union related to how certain leaves are administered by the University.
The parties are scheduled to meet again on September 17th, October 9th and 24th.
