Application for Non-Degree Students

Visiting or Transient

Use this application if you’ve attended another college or university during the last 12 months and want to attend Miami as a non-degree student.

Unclassified

This application should be used if you have a degree from another college or university and do not want to get an additional degree.

Non-Degree Application Deadlines

Summer Term | April 10 
Fall Semester | August 10 
Winter Term | December 10 
Spring Semester | January 10 

Non-Degree Application Details

Application Fee (waived for 2026)

Miami University will waive the application fee for all non-degree applicants in 2026.

Transcript from Current Institution or Last Institution Attended

Unofficial high school transcript with graduation date or unofficial college transcript from current or last institution attended. Miami employees do not need to submit transcripts.

International Students

In addition to the items listed above, international students who are already enrolled at another U.S. university should submit a copy of their current visa or I-20.

International students who are not in the U.S. and who require visa documentation from Miami should submit acceptable proof of English proficiency, the International Student Financial Support Form, and supporting financial documentation in addition to the items listed above.

Previous Miami Students

If you are a Miami University graduate or have previously attended as a degree seeking student, you will need to go through the re-enrollment process instead of applying as a non-degree seeking student.

Admission Requirements

Only students who have a high school diploma or equivalent and have not previously attended Miami University are eligible for non-degree admission. Please contact nondegree@miamioh.edu with any questions.
