Application
Miami University uses an online application for graduate admission. From the online portal, students select the appropriate application type:
- a Graduate Degree Program (i.e., Master/Specialist, Doctoral program)
- a Graduate Certificate Program
- a Graduate Non-Degree (i.e., licensure, endorsement, or workshop)
Graduate programs require various supplemental application materials, visit their website to learn more.
For more information about requirements based on citizenship click below:
- Domestic applicants - U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents
- International applicants - those who require a Non-Immigrant Visa (i.e. F-1, J-1)

Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee is required for each graduate application. When applying to a graduate degree program, the fee is $50. For students interested in pursuing a graduate certificate or non-degree/non-certificate, the fee is $20.
Application Deadline Dates
Deadline dates are set by each graduate department/program and can vary. We strongly encourage you to contact the graduate department or graduate certificate program for more information. All application materials must be received by the deadline date for your application to be reviewed for admission.
Graduate Assistantships
Miami University's academic departments offer a wide variety of competitive graduate assistantships for full-time degree-seeking students that involve duties ranging from residence hall assistants to teaching and research. Graduate assistantships include a tuition waiver and a stipend. Waivers vary from 25% to 93% in tuition reduction and stipends vary by department and assigned duties.
Indicate on the online application if you are interested in being considered for funding. Some programs may require additional information. For more information on the assistantship possibilities, contact the Graduate Director of your program of interest.
Tuition and Funding
Miami University's Graduate school offers a number of financial awards to qualifying new and current students. Another good resource from Miami and outside funding can be found on the Office of Research and Innovation website.
