Summer Camps at the Equestrian Center

Miami Equestrian offers summer riding camps tailored to those with no previous riding experience as well as those actively competing with aspirations of riding on a college team. We welcome all levels of riders in three disciplines: hunt seat, western, and dressage.

Horse Days Camp

Not sure if a week of horse camp is right for you? Looking for a first experience with horses to learn about them, ride, and spend the day with them? Not quite old enough for ½ day camp? Horse Days are for you! Horse days are for young horse enthusiasts ages 6-12. Participants will join us for a fun filled day at the Miami Equestrian Center. Activities will include riding, learning about horse care, horse behavior, crafts, and more!

Cost: $125.00

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Half-Day Camps

The half-day camp is designed for the beginner rider as well as the younger competitors ages 8–14. Camp activities vary from week to week, but include daily riding lessons and other horse-related activities. Campers will learn how to groom, tack, ride, and care for their horses while enjoying fun camp games and activities with and about their horse friends.

Cost: $275.00

Full-Day Camps

The full-day camp is designed for riders ages 10–18 who have some prior riding experience and are comfortable grooming, tacking, and receiving discipline-specific riding instruction in an arena setting.

Cost: $500.00

Overnight Camps

Miami's Overnight Equestrian Camps are open to riders entering grades 6 to 12. The camp is designed to further horsemanship and equitation skills in the saddle as well as develop strong horse husbandry and knowledge with the focus on improving performance in the horse show ring. In addition, campers will enjoy some fun and group-oriented activities on campus. Camp includes room and board on campus, use of Miami's horse herd and tack, structured riding lessons each day, classroom, and in-barn teaching. This camp is designed for riders who have received structured riding lessons and can tack the horse up independently (or with minimal assistance).

Overnight Camp Offerings

Hunt Seat Equitation Camp - This equitation based camp focuses on growing strong equitations skills both on the flat and over fences. Riders currently competing will grow and strengthen their skills while those heading into IEA competition or similar will learn the basics of what is expected in the show ring. All will work on improvement of equitation skills, jumping position, and coursework. Riders will arrive in the afternoon of June 22, 2025 and depart around noon on June 27, 2025.

Western Horsemanship Overnight Camp - this camp is designed for riders currently competing or looking to compete in IEA, YEDA, 4-H, Level 1, or college riding. With a strong emphasis on growing horsemanship skills that translate into all components of western riding, this camp will challenge riders to grow as horsemen. Riders will arrive in the afternoon of July 17 2025 and depart around noon on July 20, 2025.
