Howard Kleiman

Howard Kleiman joined the Miami faculty in 1983 after teaching at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. His research and teaching interests are electronic media policy and regulation, First Amendment issues and broadcast journalism. Kleiman’s articles have appeared in Journalism Quarterly, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Communication Law and Policy, and The Encyclopedia of Television. He directs Miami's Inside Washington program, which offers summer and semester coursework and internships in D.C. Kleiman, a 1994 faculty fellow at CNN, earlier worked in video production and was a VISTA volunteer in Alaska. He earned a doctoral degree from the University of Oregon.
