Visiting Instructor

David Wells spent 35 years as a reporter, editor and opinion writer at The Cincinnati Enquirer, and now is a principal at David Wells Communication. He joined Miami’s Journalism Program in 2011, teaching on the Oxford, Middletown and Hamilton campuses. For nine years Wells was editor of the Enquirer’s Editorial and Forum sections, and he led their conversion to energetic and reader-interactive forums online and in print. Wells has won numerous journalism awards from the Ohio Associated Press and from Gannett, parent company of the Enquirer. His work also has been published in Business Week, The Los Angeles Times and through the Reuters wire service. He earned a bachelor’s in journalism from Ohio University.
