Alyssa Simms presents at the 2022 Graduate Research Forum
"Since going zero waste (ex: refusing to buy products that use single-use plastic) is a privilege for most, it's important to prioritize progress over perfection (Kolb, 2022),” presented Simms. “Focus on what you can do instead of feeling the need to change everything at once."
Simms is earning a Master of Arts (MA) in the biological sciences from Miami through Project Dragonfly‘s Advanced Inquiry Program with experiential learning at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Simms, who currently works as a lifeguard and maintenance worker at the Warren Olympic Club, plans to transition into an environmental researcher/journalist position.
