Today, his work as a zoologist, naturalist, wildlife photographer, and writer is enriched by the knowledge he acquired through the AIP.
Earlier this year Kao traveled to Taiwan to visit the Taipei Zoo. He highlights Taipei Zoo's rich collection of Taiwanese fauna in an article he wrote for Zoo Grapevine & International Zoo News, a journal of the Independent Zoo Enthusiasts Society based in the United Kingdom.
Kao’s most recent work appears in Responsible Herpetoculture Journal and discusses the collection and animal husbandry at Iguanaland, a reptile zoo and education/ conservation center he visited in the southwestern Florida town of Punta Gorda.
Kao's photos of an Asian black bear at the Taipei Zoo and a rare Sister Isles Iguana at Iguanaland are featured on the covers of each journal.
Subscriptions to each of these journals are available through the Independent Zoo Enthusiasts Society and the Responsible Herpetoculture Foundation.
