Registration fee for Miami University Double Reed Day is $25. An online registration form may be found below.

Students must register and mail their check by Wednesday, March 29th for a T-shirt and lunch reservation.

We will have an all-you-can-eat lunch at Miami University's Western Dining Hall, and parents of high school students will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Chris Tanner, Chair of the Miami University Department of Music, in an information session about the university and our music program.

Lorée Youth Oboe Competition

and Barton Cane Youth Bassoon Competition

This year, Miami is proud to announce a youth competition with generous support from our sponsors Lorée and Barton Cane. This competition is open to all students 7-12 grade. All participants of the competition must be registered for Double Reed Day. However, no additional fee is required to participate in the competition. Prizes

  • 1st Prize: $200 + performance on the afternoon recital
  • 2nd Prize: $100
  • 3rd Prize: Reed making supplies
