Jason Berberich, an associate professor at Miami University’s College of Engineering and Computing, was recently recognized by CEC honors students as the 2022-2023 Honors College CEC Faculty Member of the Year.
Berberich has worked as a CEC faculty member in the Department of Chemical, Paper, and Biomedical Engineering since 2012. His main research focuses on biocatalysis and biotransformations and their application in renewable energy, green chemistry, and chemical and biological weapons defense.
“This recognition is well-deserved and well-earned, as our honors students have long pointed to [him] as one of the finest research mentors in CEC. This award is certainly a byproduct of [his] deep commitment to working with students and stoking their intellectual interests and passions,” said Zeb Baker, executive director of the Honors College.
Although Berberich couldn’t attend the Student-Faculty Reception where this award was presented, his fellow CEC faculty and the Engineering students present gave him a large round of applause for his contributions to the CEC.
Additionally, the Honors College will be awarding him with $500 in professional development funds along with a plaque for his achievement.
