CEC senior excels at South African Olympic Trials
Congratulations to senior Biomedical Engineering major Henju Duvenhage! Henju traveled to Gqeberha, South Africa to compete in 7 events over the course of the South African Olympic Trials. The trials took place at the 2024 SA National Aquatics Championships.
Henju placed 2nd in the nation for the 50m Backstroke, 2nd in the 200 Individual Medley, 3rd in the 100m Backstroke and 2nd in the 4x100 Medley Relay.
He also tied 26th in the world for the 50m Backstroke.

- Duvenhage participated in the 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 IM in the prelims.
- The RedHawk senior earned a second-place finish in the 50 back finals, posting a time of 25.25. He was also the runner-up in the 200 IM finals, turning in a time of 2:01.87.
- Duvenhage added a podium finish in the 100 back finals, taking third with a time of 55.25.
- In the 100 fly finals, Duvenhage came in fourth, posting a mark of 53.66. He also secured another fourth-place finish in the 200 fly (2:03.91).
