The Division of Student Life creates transformational opportunities, inclusive environments, and meaningful connections that maximize student growth, learning, and success.
Welcome to the META Collective: Multifaith Engagement for Transformative Action!
We are Miami students, staff, faculty, and other members of the local community.
We differ from each other in the religious beliefs, spiritual practices, or secular philosophies we follow.
We come together, across those differences, to promote inclusion, understanding, and justice for all.
We seek to develop a campus and community climate where people commit to understand, respect, and appreciate others’ religious, spiritual, or secular meaning-making, confront religious intolerance, and work toward equity for all.
We work toward our vision by developing and supporting sustainable initiatives that:
Cultivate a sense of belonging and inclusion, on campus and in local communities, for students, staff, faculty, and community members who have different identities in relation to religion.
Create healthy spaces of engagement where students, staff, faculty, and community members who orient around religion differently can develop religious literacy, appreciative knowledge, and bonds of friendship.
Collaborate with campus and community partners, across lines of religious, spiritual, and secular difference, around common values toward more just and flourishing communities.
The Division of Student Life creates transformational opportunities, inclusive environments, and meaningful connections that maximize student growth, learning, and success.
