Serving as a tutor is a paid position, and students must accept federal work study in their financial aid package.
Regardless of your career plans or academic discipline, we strongly encourage you to utilize the Federal College Work Study portion of your financial assistance package to participate in this special and powerful work experience. Your time spent as a tutor in the America Reads and/or America Counts program will enhance your personal and professional skillset while you are paid to encourage and tutor children in local communities. No prior tutoring experience is necessary.
