Mission Statement

The Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success is committed to creating an engaged and inclusive culture which facilitates the design, implementation, and execution of strategic, research-based enrollment and student success practices. The Division champions student-centered support services, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with University partners to support and advance a diverse learning environment and enrollment-related outcomes across the full student lifecycle from recruitment through graduation and lifelong success.

FY17 Key Goals

I. Strategically Manage Undergraduate Enrollment and Advance Miami’s Market Position

In coordination with the Provost, Chief Financial Officer, and five academic deans, meet all enrollment objectives, including first-year class target, diversity, academic profile, net tuition revenue, transfer enrollment target, and other key indicators, while optimizing University resources, advancing the goals outlined in the Miami 2020 Plan, and simultaneously advancing Miami’s market position.

II. Provide High Quality, User-Friendly Services that are Efficient, Effective, Inclusive, and Support the University Community and Beyond

Provide in-person and virtual student-centric services that are efficient, inclusive, and user-friendly to enhance the Miami experience and contribute to attracting, retaining, graduating, and placing highly prepared and diverse students with industry-leading employers and top graduate and professional schools. Equally as important, provide user-centered support for faculty, staff, and administrators through data analysis and services that enable members of the University to accomplish their academic and administrative goals and objectives.

III. Build a Best Practice and Research-Based Student Success Organization

Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination of initiatives across the University that will lead to increased retention and graduation rates and enhanced and expanded internship and employment opportunities pre- and post-graduation. Proactively identify and systematically partner with the University community to address academic, social, and financial obstacles that impact student success. Work in close partnership with the President, Provost, Student Affairs, President’s Executive Cabinet, Academic Deans, University leadership, and other key influencers to ensure collaboration to support an engaged and successful, broadly defined and measured, student learning experience.
