Farmer School of Business Scholarships

The Farmer School of Business has been fortunate to have generous donors to support study abroad opportunities for FSB students. Scholarship award amounts vary, and may reach up to $3000.

FSB Study Abroad Scholarship Eligibility

In order to be eligible for any FSB study abroad scholarship, students:

  • Must be an FSB major.
  • Must be studying on an FSB summer/winter/semester study abroad program, an FSB exchange,  Miami Luxembourg semester, or an FSB preferred.
  • Must be enrolled full-time in at least 12 credit hours for a fall or spring semester study abroad program. Winter and summer programs require enrollment in the program course(s). Summer internship programs are not eligible for FSB scholarships.

FSB Need-Based Scholarships

In addition to the above general FSB scholarship eligibility, students who meet the following criteria will automatically be considered for a need-based scholarship; no application required. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated need and a history of a high academic achievement

  • Student must have a FAFSA on file for the school year during which he/she will study abroad. The FAFSA must show need.
  • Student must have a 2.50 or higher overall GPA.

FSB Merit-Based Scholarships

Merit scholarships are competitive and limited based on the number of applicants and amount of annual funds. In addition to the above general FSB scholarship eligibility, students who meet the following criteria will be considered for merit-based scholarships; an application is required:

  • Student must be an FSB major
  • Student must have 3.5 overall GPA on 15 Miami University earned hours (transfer credit does not apply towards this minimum).
  • Students must be studying on an FSB semester or faculty led program..
  • Student must have completed and submitted the FSB Merit-Based Scholarship Application by the appropriate deadline:

Fall: March 18, 2019
Winter: June 4, 2019
Spring: October 6, 2019
Summer:  February 2, 2020

Award Disbursement

Scholarship money will be transferred to the student's Bursar Account 10 days prior to the beginning of the study abroad term.
