In this week's Where in the World is Miami Wednesday, we meet Jake Norz, a sophomore SLAM major with a minor in marketing. During spring break he traveled to London to study English soccer.
What organizations are you involved with at Miami?
I am in the Athletic Communications, Marketing & Broadcast Internship (ACMB). I also work at Goggin
Why did you choose to study abroad?
I wanted to go to London to experience a new side of sports that I hadn't seen before. The program covered stadium and event management.
What were the coolest places you visited on your program?
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
All the stadiums! We visited Tottenham Hotspur, Loftus Road (QPR), The Laithwaite Community Stadium (Woking FC), The Valley (Charlton Athletic), and The Plough (AFC Wimbledon).
What was your favorite part of your program?
Learning the histories of all of the teams and the communities.
How has the study abroad experience changed you?
It has given me a new perspective on how sport is enjoyed in England and just how different the sport is enjoyed by the fans there.
