Five students, alumni named Fulbright Semifinalists

Five Miami students and alumni are semifinalists in the 2026-2027 Fulbright U.S. Student Program competition.

Two undergraduates, one graduate student, and two alumni have been recommended by the U.S. National Screening Committees for further consideration by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in the countries to which they applied. The final results of the competition will be released later this spring.

Miami had a total of fourteen applicants to ten different countries during the 2026-2027 application cycle.

The Miami semifinalists are:

Becca BortonBecca Borton – Master’s student in History; 2025 graduate in Integrated Social Studies Education and Political Science with minors in Music Theatre, History, and Spanish
