MU-WIRELESS Wi-Fi Option Going Away During Winter Break

As part of an initiative to improve the overall security, features, and performance of the Miami Wi-Fi infrastructure, IT Services will be removing the MU-WIRELESS option from the Miami Wi-Fi environment on Friday, December 20.

MiamiOH-Secure is the replacement for MU-WIRELESS and provides increased security standards and leverages enhanced capabilities. It became active for Miami users this past May.  You are able to log in to MiamiOH-Secure by using your UniqueID and MUnet password.

There is a very small number of older devices that may not be able to use MiamiOH-Secure. For these devices, users will be able to connect via either eduroam or MiamiOH-MyDevices.

MU-Gaming will also be permanently removed from the Miami environment after the spring semester. Users of this Wi-Fi service will need to use the new MiamiOH-MyDevices network at that point. For additional information about registering to and using MiamiOH-MyDevices, please visit MiamiOH.edu/wifi.

IT Services is in the midst of a multi-year upgrade to Miami’s entire Wi-Fi system. It is being done in phases, and when completed, it will provide a faster and more personalized experience for users. Check out MiamiOH.edu/wifi for more information about Miami’s Wi-Fi environment.
