New Alternatives to InfoBase Learning Cloud
For several years, Miami students, faculty, and staff have been able to use a resource called InfoBase Learning Cloud. Unfortunately, our subscription has not been renewed for the coming fiscal year.
Have no fear, however! We have gathered a list of alternatives to the resources contained in the service.
For faculty and staff, there are many helpful trainings in the learning app of the Workday site. You can also visit the Percipio/Skillsoft portal at MiamiOH.percipio.com for professional development resources and activities.
For students, the Miami Libraries have video and written resources as well with tutorials on how to use tools like Microsoft Office and Google Apps. The local Lane Library also hosts a series of webinars for everyone in our community.
Check out these resources and more by reading our article here!
Register now for the AI Symposium
If you are interested in attending the upcoming AI Symposium, don't forget to register! With this year's theme being AI Everywhere, we look forward to diving in and discussing how we can dive into creativity and science in AI.
The symposium returns on Monday, March 10, and Tuesday, March 11. Registration is now open! Lunch registration ends on March 1.

Email phishing message asking for student research assistants
The information security team has received numerous reports about the resurgence of a scam email trying to recruit student research assistants. There are several versions of the message being sent to undergraduate and graduate students.
This email notes that there is a pressing need for student research assistants at Miami, and asks students to send some personal information to the sender. This is a common type of scam we see, but this one is particularly detailed, which could come across as more credible.
Please be aware that this is not how Miami advertises for jobs. If you receive a message that you suspect to be a phishing message, please forward it to InfoSec@MiamiOH.edu.
For more information and examples of this scam, read our article here.
Congrats to Leah Harris, Amy Moore, and Dean Harris!
Here at IT, our employees work hard every day to ensure the technological needs of the Miami campus are met. That hard work is met with years of dedication and we want to congratulate our very own for their years of service.
Our very own Leah Harris and Dean Harris celebrated 30 years working here at Miami and Amy Moore celebrated 25 years! Their service and dedication continue to amaze us every day and we are so happy and grateful to have them on our team.
Congratulations!
