Update Apple devices now

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released a statement last week that a new zero-click vulnerability targets Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and computers. Miami users are encouraged to update any Apple devices they have, as Apple has released patches for this vulnerability.

A zero-click attack is one that doesn’t require user interaction to trigger a device compromise.

Reminder: Phishing message about Microsoft accounts

Miami has become aware of a phishing attempt that many users are experiencing. This phishing message is asking recipients to verify their “Microsoft” accounts after claiming that the account has been set for deactivation.

Please be aware that this message was supposedly sent from a Miami email account, but it is a scam. Do not click on the link. If you have clicked the link, please reset your password ASAP at https://accounts.miamioh.edu.

End of life for analog phone system on oxford campus

IT Services will be migrating away from old copper cabling for our phone system on the Oxford campus south of Spring Street on July 9, starting at 8 a.m.

This cabling was used for older services such as legacy elevator phones, fax machines, alarm circuits, and cordless handset phones.
