When Lori was asked what the main role of her job was, she said, “Software & Contracts are a big part of my role. Ensuring software renewals that are managed by IT Services are completed on time. I also play a key role in the Software & Cloud Services IT Review process, and I review contract language and end user license agreements.”

Lori’s ‘favorite parts’ of the job consist of helping customers seek out services/assistance and learning new things, especially with the evolving AI landscape; she also enjoys identifying and implementing process improvements.

When Lori was asked what her work background was prior to coming to Miami, she said, “Prior to working for IT Services, I was the Clery Act Coordinator at the police department on campus, compiling the crime statistics for each of the MU campuses and assisting in the publication of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report along with various other duties.”

Prior to Miami, Lori worked a few part-time jobs as she transitioned back into the workforce after being a full-time stay-at-home mom to her son and daughter prior to them entering grade school (BTW - both kids are 2022 Miami grads!!). Her very first job was with a local hardware store called Baker Hardware, where she worked part time through high school and college.

Some of Lori’s favorite things to do consist of being outside, spending time with her kids, gardening/canning, taking walks, and hiking. Lori also said that she and her husband operate a family farm in Reily, Ohio, where they raise row crops (corn, soybeans, and wheat) along with hay. They also have a side hustle that consists of selling firewood and grazing a few cows that her kids had for their 4H/FFA projects. She also said, “We have lots of barn cats for mice control and a seven month mini Australian shepherd called “Mich" who keeps things interesting with his curiosity."
