Introducing Pope Tech: New digital accessibility platform

IT Services and AccessMU are excited to announce a major upgrade to our digital accessibility initiative!

Over the coming weeks, our institution will be migrating our primary web accessibility scanning tool from the Level Access AMP tool to Pope Tech’s Web Accessibility Platform. This transition represents a significant step forward in making digital compliance and inclusivity more achievable, transparent, and collaborative across our entire campus.

While Level Access AMP has served us well, we are shifting to a platform that aligns more naturally with our specific academic and administrative workflows.

The primary driver behind this switch is Pope Tech's truly user-friendly interface. Its intuitive, modern dashboards and clear visual indicators mean content creators and developers can quickly identify and remediate accessibility issues.

Additionally, the platform offers great flexibility in configuration. Pope Tech provides highly customizable scanning configurations, allowing us to tailor reports for specific teams.

Most importantly, Pope Tech is a company deeply dedicated to higher education. Powered by the industry-standard WAVE testing engine developed by WebAIM at Utah State University, their architecture is rooted in the academic community, and we’re excited about the potential for this partnership.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to keeping our digital spaces open and accessible to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. If you have immediate questions or feedback, please contact the AccessMU Center.
