Tech Support Options in Fall 2026

Welcome back, RedHawks! We are excited to have you back and start the Fall 2026 semester with you, but first we want you to know what your IT support options are, should you ever need them.

As we approach the fall semester, it is important to us in IT Services that everyone knows where they can get the support they need. Before this academic year starts, we want to give you a refresher and let you know what your options are if you are to ever need technology help. Here is a list of all the places you can go to get support.

Check the IT Help portal

From this page, you can view contact information for the support desk, search the Knowledge Base directly, find links to reset your password, and much more. There is even a section of helpful KB articles curated for different times of the school year.

Visit the site now at MiamiOH.edu/ITHelp

Search the Knowledge Base!

With nearly 1,000 public articles on common Miami tech topics (like the Generative AI Best Practices article, how to change your password, or how to download your free version of Microsoft Office), chances are you’ll find the answers to your questions in the Knowledge Base.

Search the KB now at MiamiOH.edu/KnowIT.

Call IT Help at 513-529-7900

Calling the support desk is the easiest and quickest way to get help. Advisors are trained to assist in whatever way you need–and get the appropriate people involved if they can't resolve your issue right away.

Chat with IT Help

If you’re more of the typing type, we also have a live chat option. This connects you to a live support person ready to assist with your issues.

Visit the Tech Support Lounge!

The Tech Support Lounge is the place to go for any hands-on support you might need. As a first-come, first-serve, walk-up support desk, students can get assistance with their personally-owned devices, receiving aid from our lounge technician.

Services Include:

  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Malware removal
  • Warranty repair recommendations
  • Hardware malfunctions
  • Operating system and software installations and malfunctions
  • Loaner Program

The Lounge is located in the Armstrong Student Center. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sign up for the Laptop Loaner Program

Students can sign up for the loaner program between now and September 12 for $35. This covers any loaner needs for the entire academic year. After September 12 it goes up to $100 per incident. As part of the program, students:

  • Are eligible for a loaner device for both warranty and out-of-warranty repairs
  • Will go ZERO days without a computer
  • Can receive a same-day loaner from the Tech Support Lounge

You can register for the program through the iResQ portal.
