National Merit Finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) selects the finalists and the type of scholarship to award and provides that information to Miami. Scholars can only receive one of the following three scholarships (which are subject to change at any time by NMSC):

  • National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
    Single-payment scholarship; non renewable.
  • Corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship
These scholarships may either be renewable for four years of undergraduate study or one-time awards.
  • College-sponsored Merit Scholarship
Only finalists who notify National Merit by the published deadlines of their plans to attend Miami are considered for a College-sponsored Merit Scholarship. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
