Miami Match Scholarships

Miami University offers the following special recognition scholarships to incoming first-year students on the Oxford campus:

National Merit Finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) selects the finalists and the type of scholarship to award and provides that information to Miami. Scholars can only receive one of the following three scholarships (which are subject to change at any time by NMSC):

  • National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
    Single-payment scholarship; non renewable.
  • Corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship
    These scholarships may either be renewable for four years of undergraduate study or one-time awards.
  • College-sponsored Merit Scholarship
    Only finalists who notify National Merit by the published deadlines of their plans to attend Miami are considered for a College-sponsored Merit Scholarship. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Miami University offers scholarships to students receiving the following outside scholarships/grants:

Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation »

Miami will award $2,500 to each admitted recipient of a Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation scholarship, who enrolls at the Oxford campus and has financial need. This scholarship will be renewable provided the student enrolls full time, attends the Oxford campus, and maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.50.

College Now Greater Cleveland »

Miami will award $2,500 to each admitted recipient of a College Now Greater Cleveland Scholarship who enrolls at the Oxford campus and has financial need. This scholarship will be renewable provided the student enrolls full time, attends the Oxford campus, and maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.50.

Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program »

Miami will award $1,000 to each admitted recipient of a Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship. This scholarship renewable for four years provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress, enrolls full time, and completes the FAFSA annually. This match scholarship will renew at $1,500 for a student’s third and fourth year.

D.C. Tuition Match Scholarship »

Miami will award an additional $5,000 scholarship to each admitted recipient of a D.C. Tuition Assistance Grant provided the student enrolls at least half time. This scholarship will be renewable provided the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.50.

Montgomery County Ohio College Promise Scholarship Program »

Miami is a college partner for the Montgomery County Ohio College Promise Scholarship Program. To receive College Promise, students must have completed an application and been part of the program while in high school. After the student’s self-help contribution, the College Promise funding, institutional scholarships, and federal and state grants are applied, Miami provides funding to cover in-state tuition, general fees, career development fee, business or engineering course fees, on-campus housing (double standard room), meals (diplomat standard meal plan), and books. Students must maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA to remain eligible for the program.
