Jordan Maurer
Position: Pitching Coach, Director of Motor Skills Enhancement, OBSA
Hometown: West Chester, OH
Alma Mater: Miami University
Experience: First season
With my dad working as an MLB agent since before I was born, baseball has been a staple in my life. Being around the game growing up and falling in love with the analysis of how to improve my own performance as well as comparing key aspects of the delivery of professional pitchers, to myself, the writing on the wall for me to coach has always been there. I played at Lakota East High School as well as some high level travel teams including the Giants Scout Team and the Rawlings National Team. Finishing up my playing career, I played a season with Miami Hamilton as a relief pitcher and then decided I was becoming more passionate about coaching than I was playing.
Aside from playing baseball, I’ve worked at a state of the art baseball facility named, Ohio Baseball Science Academy (OBSA) since the winter of 2020. There, I’ve worked up in the ranks and continue to learn each day on how to improve each athlete and help them achieve their full potential. Working with 800 different “movers”, I’ve seen lots of things that work for throwers, and lots that do not. Through trial and error, taking certifications, and continuing to pursue more knowledge in many horizons, I’ve been able to help this program so far and I’m excited to continue to see the progress the players on this team make.
