Harriers Softball Coaching Staff
Jason Prunest
Position: Head Coach
Jason started his coaching career as a youth wrestling coach in 2008, but began coaching softball in 2013 after his daughter showed interest. He soon transitioned to coaching softball exclusively and his passion for the sport grew from there. He spent nine years at the Jr. High level at Beavercreek Jr. High while also coaching select teams along the way.
In 2020 he moved up to a High School varsity head coach position at Roger Bacon High School, before moving on and in 2023 led his new team The Springboro Panthers to a conference championship.
Throughout the years he has never lost sight of learning as much about the game as possible and honing his coaching skills on and off the field. Through the years he has developed a coaching philosophy to build a successful softball program using positive leadership to help players develop on and off the field strategies for success; whether that is working with faculty to develop academic and program expectations, to team building exercises such as fund raising and team bonding activities. Jason is always working towards a goal of a well rounded, successful team.
Outside of softball, Jason enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with friends and family. He and his girlfriend also raise reining horses, so when he isn't on the field, you will catch him working around the farm.
A native of Ohio, Jason spent time in the military and earned a degree in computer network systems. After serving, he moved back home to start his journey.
Jason has 3 children, and 2 grandchildren.
Jason is looking forward to coaching The University of Miami Hamilton team.
