The Regional Office of Student Activities and Orientation (ROSA) hires Regional Orientation Leaders (OL) who work on both the Hamilton and Middletown Campuses in the spring and summer.
Regional OLs are positive role models who assist new students in transitioning to Miami University Regionals. Regional OLs should have a passion for the Miami Regionals experience, knowledge of campus, a desire to help others, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Orientation Leader Position Description

  • Lead a group of 5 - 20 incoming students during the Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program. This includes presenting information about MyMiami, giving a campus tour, leading icebreakers and discussions, answering questions, etc.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned (e.g. check-in, stuffing folders, calling students to confirm registrations, directing students) before, on, and after orientation.
  • Familiarize new students with academic opportunities and procedures, campus services, activities, opportunities, policies, and locations.

Necessary Qualifications

  • Ability to work and function on a team.
  • Ability to familiarize new students with academic opportunities and procedures, campus services, activities, opportunities, policies, and locations.
  • Commitment to serve as a mature role model for new students.
  • Demonstrate respect for all individuals regardless of ability, creed, ethnicity, gender, race, etc.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, sincerity, enthusiasm, friendliness, leadership, and desire to help others.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Miami University Student with preference to students who are on the Regional campuses
  • Minimum GPA 2.5.

Regional Orientation leaders must be able to attend all SOAR Programs, training's, and staff meetings.
