About Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates

Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU) is an interactive online course that uses a population-level approach to educate all students on the issues associated with sexual assault and interpersonal violence. SAPU helps students learn about healthy relationships, what is consent, and ways you can help create a positive, safe campus community.

Miami University requires each member of the first-year class to complete SAPU as a component of the educational requirements of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (“VAWA”), signed into law on March 7, 2014. First year students receive information about SAPU during First Year Orientation and mailings over the summer.
