About Strategies for Reducing Alcohol-Related Harms

Strategies for Reducing Alcohol-Related Harms is an online educational course required for all incoming first-year students and transfer students on the Oxford campus. The course uses science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. First-year students receive information about the module during orientation and in mailings over the summer.

About Impressions: Sexual Assault Prevention

Impressions: Sexual Assault Prevention is an interactive online course that uses a population-level approach to educate all students about sexual assault and interpersonal violence. Impressions helps students learn about healthy relationships, consent, and creating a safe, positive campus community.

Miami University requires each first-year student on the Oxford campus to complete Impressions as a part of the educational requirements of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA), signed into law on March 7, 2014. First-year students receive information about Impressions during orientation in mailings over the summer.
