Miami Scholarships
University Merit Scholarships
Miami University offers scholarship awards to new fall first-year, full-time Oxford campus in-state (Ohio) and out-of-state students to recognize student achievement and to continue to make a high quality education more affordable for students. These awards are renewable for up to four years.
Special Recognition Scholarships
Miami offers special recognition scholarships to National Merit Finalists. Miami also provides additional scholarships to students who receive certain outside scholarships or grants.
Miami Access Initiative
Through the Miami Access Initiative, tuition and academic fees are provided for first-time freshmen students from Ohio who have been admitted to the Oxford campus and who have a total family income equal to or less than $35,000. Students must also be academically competitive. Dependent students relocating to Oxford from the Hamilton or Middletown campuses are also eligible.
Scholarships Awarded by Academic Departments
Many of Miami's academic departments award scholarships to incoming freshmen. If you wish to be considered for a scholarship from the department in your major field of study, you should contact the chair of the academic department. Also, make sure you have declared your intended major with the Office of Admission by early February.
ROTC Scholarships
Miami offers Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship opportunities for students interested in military service.
Intercollegiate Athletics Scholarships
Miami offers athletic scholarships in the following men’s sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, ice hockey, swimming & diving, and track & field. Miami offers athletic scholarships in the following women’s sports: basketball, cross country, field hockey, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.
