Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
Miami offers merit scholarships to qualified high school students who enroll full time on Miami's Oxford campus beginning in the fall semester. Students will be considered based on scholarship availability at the time they apply. Dec. 1 is the priority application deadline to be considered for Miami's merit scholarships. Miami does not require the submission of ACT or SAT test scores for first-year students applying for enrollment, with the exception of those students interested in the Presidential Fellows scholarship.

- Miami uses weighted GPA (4.0 scale) from student transcripts as provided at the time of application. If your school does not calculate a weighted 4.0 GPA, Miami will recalculate your GPA for you, adding weight based on coursework difficulty. If you have taken rigorous classes, your recalculated GPA likely will be higher than your high school GPA. See additional information for international students below.
- Scholarships are renewable for up to four years, provided students meet renewability requirements.
International Students: For the merit scholarships described above, Miami calculates an equivalent U.S. GPA on a 4.0 scale for all international applicants educated outside the U.S. educational system. For international students at U.S. high schools (or those that follow a U.S. high school curriculum and grading system), Miami will recalculate your GPA as we do with other students at U.S. schools. Miami University Ohio Governor’s Scholarship
Ohio residents who apply for admission by Dec. 1 are automatically considered for the Miami University Ohio Governor’s Scholarship. This award covers full tuition and general fees for a top student from each of Ohio’s 88 counties. Course fees are not covered by this scholarship.
Choose Ohio First
The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is designed to significantly strengthen Ohio’s competitiveness within STEM disciplines and to increase the number of STEM teachers. Opportunities are available through the College of Arts and Science, the College of Engineering and Computing, and the College of Education, Health, and Society, for students studying engineering, data and science, health sciences, and other STEM areas.
FIRST Robotics
The College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) is pleased to offer a FIRST Scholarship to an incoming student who participated in FIRST Robotics in high school. To be eligible, students must have a minimum 3.0+ high school GPA and be admitted to a CEC major.
Honors College
Students interested in the Honors College, including Miami’s full-ride Presidential Fellows Scholarship, will indicate their interest on their admission application. New for fall 2027, applicants must provide self-reported ACT or SAT test scores to be considered for these highly competitive opportunities. Miami will reach out directly to applicants who opt-in to Honors College/Presidential Fellows consideration but do not provide the required scores so that they can provide them via their online application status page before the Dec. 1 deadline.
The Presidential Fellows Scholarship is a highly competitive opportunity for fifteen top students in the Honors College per year that covers tuition, fees, housing, and food and includes a $5,000 academic enrichment stipend. The Prodesse Scholarship, a $1,000-$2,000 award, is awarded to several top students admitted to the Honors College who aren't also Presidential Fellows.
