As winter loosens its grip, March offers a unique window to experience the Gorge's raw, majestic beauty without the summer crowds.

Pink Moon Paddle
Experience the magic of spring under the enchanting glow of April's Pink Moon! Join us for a unique evening paddling trip on Acton Lake. Named after the beautiful pink phlox wildflowers that bloom in early spring, the Pink Moon illuminates the park with a mystical light. It's a time of renewal, rebirth, and natural beauty.

- Canoeing instruction
- Equipment including: canoes, life jackets, paddles, boat lights
- 1 - 2 hours of casual paddling

April Awakening Hike
Hike Hocking Hills this April to experience the park at its absolute finest. The spring rains ensure the waterfalls at Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave are roaring with power. Explore deep gorges beneath the famed Blackhand sandstone cliffs, all while trekking across a vibrant forest floor blooming with the season’s best wildflowers like trillium and violets. Perfect temperatures and nature’s most dynamic display make this the ideal time for your unforgettable Ohio adventure.

Paddle the Wild: Tandem Kayak Adventure
Experience the thrill of kayaking on one of our local waterways, the Great Miami River or 4-Mile Creek!
Paddle a 4.5-mile stretch, encountering a mix of calm waters and exciting riffles. Our experienced staff will provide instruction and safety guidance. Keep an eye out for wildlife like turtles, herons, and even bald eagles! This is a perfect adventure for beginners and experienced kayakers alike.

Trek Hidden Costa Rica
Come along and journey with us through the jungles of Costa Rica. This outdoor leadership course begins with a week of class and outdoor skill development on Oxford's campus, followed by a 11 day field experience in Costa Rica.
Adventures include hiking, jungle homestays and waterfall rappelling in Piedras Blancas, hiking in Corcovado National Park, whitewater rafting and camping on Rio General, kayaking on the Savegre River, and a surfing lesson.

Mental Health First Aid
This course teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

September 7, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The course is broken into seven learning segments. There will be multiple short breaks including a 30 minute lunch break.

Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course
Learn skills, ethics and techniques for educating others about the low-impact practices of Leave No Trace.

Wilderness First Aid Course
The best and most comprehensive course of its kind to offer relevant and realistic first-aid training for seasonal outdoor activities or short term wilderness endeavors and pursuits. Wilderness First Aid is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures.

Course Schedule:
This is a 2-day certification course. Students can expect to be in class from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day. Our next course will be offered in November 2025.

Outdoor Rock Climbing
Experience outdoor climbing with options for day or overnight trips. For a day trip, visit John Bryan State Park with routes for all skill levels, accommodating 10-20 people at $30 per person. For an extended adventure, our overnight trips to Red River Gorge offer routes for all levels with variable pricing.
Mountain Biking
Enhance your biking skills with a 2-hour introduction to mountain biking for $15 per person. Learn the basics and explore local trails at Hueston Woods in groups of 8 or fewer.
Backpacking
Disconnect and reconnect with nature on a customizable backpacking trip. Typically at Red River Gorge or Germantown Metroparks, trips can be tailored to include rock climbing, team building, and more.
Camping Retreat
Grow and develop through traditional camping with customized activities based on your group’s goals, such as team building or leadership. Prices vary based on location, activities, and add-ons.
Wilderness Rescue Immersion
Build teamwork and leadership skills with our overnight Wilderness Rescue Immersion. Participate in a mock search and rescue scenario in Red River Gorge, tailored to your group’s goals for a unique bonding experience.
