Is your goal a Physician Associate Studies degree?

  • Biomedical Science students may be able to apply credits to both the Miami University Biomedical Science MMSc and the Miami University Physician Associate Studies M.M.Sc.
  • You must follow the pre-PA plan of study (August-to-August courses)
  • You must complete the PA-Biomedical Science qualifying requirements to become eligible for an interview
  • An interview is not a guarantee of admission to the PA program

Pre-PA General Focus Curriculum

Enroll August-to-August to coordinate with Miami University Physician Associate Studies Program, and apply to the PA program in January.  If you are accepted to the PA program, some courses will count towards both degrees.  If you are not accepted to the PA program, you earn the Biomedical Science degree in August, 12 months after matriculation.

Leadership Focus Curriculum

This innovative track provides flexible scheduling during the summer, allowing students to address gaps in their preparation for professional programs through increased shadowing, volunteering, and intensive MCAT preparation. Upon graduation, students from the track earn both a Master of Medical Science in Biomedical Science and a certificate in Business Management. Students from both the General Studies and Leadership focus will take a core pre-clinical science curriculum based on courses from the Physician Associate Studies MS program (PAS). For students who follow the Leadership focus, additional courses from the Farmer School of Business are selected (FIN, ISA, MGT, MKT, ACC).
