My favorite professors are the ones that I've actually never had in classes. I pop into their offices and get to know them because I know that they have had a really big impact on my major.

What led you to choose your major?

I want to make a change in the corporate world, but also think about how I can do that with people. How do I connect people strategy to business initiatives? How can we use people for good? How can we better ourselves as leaders?

What’s your favorite experience outside the classroom so far?

We did a consulting project in Chicago over the winter term with the Center for Business Leadership for about a month. We were put in groups of four or five to work with these companies, went in nine to five every day, talked to executives about the problems that they're having, and how we can solve them. It was really cool because you got to think like a consultant, you got to live in a big city for a couple of weeks and see what that was like, and it gave you real-world experience.

What would you tell a high school student considering coming to Miami?

I would say that the faculty here is amazing. I don't think of them as professors, I think of them as mentors or friends. Their doors are always open -- I think every professor here says that, but they actually mean it. When you’re struggling in class, or you don't understand concepts, or you just want advice on your resume or interviewing tips, they are so helpful. You can tell that the professors here actually love their job.
