IT Communications and Customer Advocacy
Who are we?
The IT Communications team is responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and then communicating information about the activities conducted by the Information Technology Services Division. In name, we are a “communications” team, but we wear many hats: technology translators, hype people, the face of the department, marketing team, writers, graphic designers.
This team serves a few purposes at Miami. In general, we spend our time in several ways:
- Project work
- Ticket work
- Incident management and crisis communications
- Campus awareness (including faculty, students, staff)
- New student awareness/orientation
- General fun stuff
We are in charge of the messaging surrounding IT Services, and that includes a lot of different avenues! We make sure students know where they can get tech help, alert the community when campus Wi-Fi is down, and advocate for the community when participating in technology projects.

Sources of Knowledge
There are quite a few places to get information about IT at Miami, and this is intentional. We want to make sure folks can get the information they need when they need it – and where they need it. In general, these are the places you can go to get IT information if you are a faculty member, staff member, or student at Miami.
