Move-in
Move-in for the academic year typically starts the week before classes start with incoming students, and the Saturday and Sunday before classes for returning students.
Move-in, Move-out, and Breaks
The information covered on this page outlines the move-in (August) and move-out (May) procedures along with temporary residence hall closings for university breaks.
Breaks
The residence halls do close during some of the scheduled university breaks. Students may request to stay on campus during breaks if they can demonstrate the need to do so. Requests are process through the Miami housing portal.
Move-out
Residence halls close for the spring semester on the last day of final exams. Students should follow the move-out instructions carefully to avoid any cleaning fees.

| Winter Break | All halls close at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. |
| January Return to Campus | All halls open at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25. |
| Spring Break | March 23-29; residence halls close at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20 and reopen Sunday, March 29 at 9 a.m. |
| Move-out | Residence halls close at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15. |
