Safety and Support

Creating a safe, healthy, and supportive fraternity and sorority community is a shared responsibility at Miami University. Fraternity and sorority organizations are expected to uphold university policies, community standards, and community values. Miami provides education, support resources, reporting options, and prevention programs designed to help students thrive and make informed decisions.

Hazing Prevention and Education

Hazing is prohibited by Miami University, the State of Ohio, and all recognized fraternity and sorority organizations. 

Miami is committed to preventing hazing through education, reporting resources, community accountability, and ongoing prevention efforts. Students are encouraged to report concerns and seek support if they experience or witness hazing behaviors.

Reporting Concerns and Getting Support

Support resources are available for students who experience or witness concerning behavior, policy violations, discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, or safety concerns.

Sexual Misconduct Support

Access confidential and non-confidential support resources, reporting options, and survivor advocacy services.

Prevention Education and Bystander Intervention

Miami provides prevention-focused education programs that help students recognize concerning behaviors, intervene safely, support peers, and contribute to a healthier fraternity and sorority community.

  • Alcohol and drug education
  • Sexual violence prevention
  • Leadership and accountability training
