Regional Students Looking to Take Courses on the Oxford Campus

Regional students looking to take courses in Oxford must:

  • Complete at least 16 graded credit hours of 100-level (or higher) courses through a regional campus.
    • Post-Secondary, College Credit Plus, AP, CLEP, credit/no credit, or transfer credits are NOT counted toward this requirement.
    • Winter Term courses do NOT count toward this requirement for the following Spring Semester because it begins before Winter Term grades are posted.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
  • Have an acceptable conduct record.
  • Complete at least one Fall or Spring Semester at a Miami Regionals campus.

Regional students who meet the above requirements are eligible to submit the Permission to Register Form.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Completing the Permission to Register Form does NOT register you for the courses. It only grants you permission to register for the specific requested course(s) during your designated Oxford registration time ticket.

Oxford Students Looking to Take Courses on the Regional Campuses

Oxford students may register for on-campus classes at Hamilton, Middletown, and Voice of America Learning Center generally without special permission. However, in the case of some Regional online courses, Oxford campus students are restricted from registering or joining waitlists until restrictions are lifted as follows:

Restrictions Lifted Dates
Semester/Term Restrictions Lifted* (or following business day if posted date falls on the weekend)

Spring December 23 at 9 a.m. ET

The student’s academic record will be checked. If the request for access is approved and seats are available, the student will be added to the course. If the request for access is approved and no seats are available, the student will be added to the waitlist or instructed to utilize the ROR system.
