About
Beth Mikes is the Head of Debt Capital Markets within KeyBanc Capital Markets. She is responsible for six divisions which originate, underwrite, structure, price, and manage multiple classes of debt instruments across the full credit spectrum. Solutions include syndicated loans, private placements, high-grade/high-yield bonds, and Unitranche lending, covering Key’s Institutional Bank, its Middle Market franchise, and KeyBank Real Estate Capital. The divisions Beth leads include Syndicated and Leveraged Finance, Real Estate Syndications, Loan Syndicate and Sales, High Grade/High Yield Capital Markets, Banking Group Portfolio Management, and the Unitranche JV.
Beth began her career at Key in 1996 in the Corporate Banking Finance group. She joined the Syndicated Finance team in 1998 where she was responsible for the structuring and origination of debt transactions for clients in Key’s Energy segments (Utilities, Renewables, and Oil and Gas), as well as the Consumer and Industrial segments. Additionally, Beth covered Middle Market and Native American Financial Services and has experience in the structuring and distribution of Commercial Real Estate loans. She spent six years in Key’s Seattle office where she successfully built the syndication practice for the Technology, Diversified, and Middle Market industry segments before moving back to Key’s headquarters in Cleveland in 2006. Beth’s leadership responsibilities have included the ABL Originations team and most recently the integration of the Corporate Syndication and Leveraged Finance teams, where she transitioned the combined team to an industry coverage model. Beth was named the Head of Debt Capital Markets in 2023.
She is a member of KeyCorp’s Executive Council, the Institutional Bank’s Capital Committee, Key’s Commercial Credit Risk Committee, Key’s Commercial Credit Policy Committee, and is the Chair of the Distribution Risk Committee for Debt Capital Markets.
Beth serves as a Director on the Miami University Foundation Board where she sits on the Investment Committee and is Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee. She received her BA from Miami University and her MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. She holds Series 24, 7, and 63 licenses.
